Winchester railway station is close, but your bags still have to reach the right quarter
Rail can work well for many journeys, particularly from London Waterloo and Southampton Airport Parkway. A pre-booked car can be useful when you have heavy luggage, young children, several passengers, an unfamiliar hall or a destination beyond the main King Alfred entrance.
