University of Worcester airport transfers

Four Worcester locations mean the destination matters

University life in Worcester is spread across more than one address. St John’s is the largest campus, City Campus sits in the centre, Severn Campus is by the river and Lakeside is outside the city at Holt Heath. A student hall, graduation booking or business visit can therefore finish somewhere very different from the University’s main postcode.

Crystal Executive Cars (CEC) provides pre-booked chauffeur-driven private hire journeys for University of Worcester students, families, staff and visitors. We plan the route around the airport, the correct University location, passenger numbers and luggage rather than using one general drop-off for every booking.

Start with the campus name, not just “University of Worcester”

The University describes four main locations. St John’s, City and Severn are close enough to walk between, while Lakeside is a separate countryside site. Giving CEC the campus, building or hall name before travel helps the driver plan the right final approach.

St John’s CampusHenwick Grove, Worcester WR2 6AJ

The University’s largest campus, with central services, teaching spaces, sports facilities, the Students’ Union and much of the student village.

City CampusCastle Street, Worcester WR1 3AS

Home to Worcester Business School and close to the Jenny Lind Building, Charles Hastings Building and The Hive. It is only a short walk from Foregate Street station.

Severn CampusHylton Road, Worcester WR2 5JN

Between St John’s and City Campus. It includes the University Arena, Riverside and major health teaching buildings.

Lakeside CampusHolt Heath, Worcester WR6 6NH

An outdoor learning and activity campus in the Worcestershire countryside, around a 10-minute drive from St John’s according to the University.

Airport choices for University of Worcester journeys

The best airport depends on your flight as well as the road journey. Birmingham is the University’s recommended arrival airport for international students where practical. Heathrow remains important for long-haul routes, while Bristol and other airports may suit particular flights.

Birmingham Airport to University of Worcester

The University’s international-arrival guidance calls Birmingham International the closest airport and says a taxi journey to Worcester takes around an hour. CEC can provide a pre-booked private hire alternative direct to St John’s Campus, City Campus, Severn Campus, Lakeside or another confirmed Worcester address.

If you searched for a taxi from Worcester to Birmingham Airport or a Birmingham Airport taxi to the University, CEC is different from a street-hail taxi. Your journey is booked in advance with a professional chauffeur and an agreed collection plan.

London Heathrow Airport

A key long-haul gateway for direct Worcester journeys. A Heathrow to University of Worcester private transfer can be useful when passengers have several cases, family members or an onward campus move-in.

Bristol Airport

Another practical airport for some routes into the West Midlands and South West. CEC can quote direct travel to the exact Worcester destination on the booking.

Gatwick, Stansted and other airports

Long-distance airport transfers can also be arranged when the flight schedule makes another airport the better choice. Allow suitable road time for the longer journey.

The map shows Birmingham Airport to St John’s Campus as a useful reference route. Your actual journey can finish at another Worcester campus, hall, hotel or private address.

Open Birmingham route

Your airport collection should already know where you are sleeping or studying

For a first arrival, the flight number is only part of the booking. We also need the exact Worcester destination. A hall on St John’s Campus is not the same journey as City Campus, and Lakeside is outside the central campus cluster.

CEC is a Transport for London (TfL)-licensed private hire operator. Airport journeys are pre-booked and chauffeur-driven. Airport bookings include meet and greet with a name board where arranged, flight monitoring, luggage assistance and a 60-minute waiting-time allowance, subject to CEC booking terms.

We use available flight information to help coordinate collection timing.

24/7 pre-booked travel

Airport and long-distance journeys can be arranged around early departures and late arrivals.

Arriving as an international student?

The University advises international students to use Birmingham Airport where possible and says students living in University accommodation should make their way to Main Reception at St John’s Campus on arrival. Check your own welcome instructions because your required arrival point may change by course, accommodation or arrival date.

Student accommodation needs the hall name

University accommodation is not one building. St John’s has a large residential area and City Campus also has halls. Sending the hall name and your accommodation confirmation is safer than asking for a general University drop-off.

St John’s student village

Current University maps show a large group of halls around St John’s Campus. Examples include Elizabeth Barrett Browning, William Morris, A E Housman, Vesta Tilley and other named residences.

City Campus halls

City Campus has University accommodation in the city centre. Use the residence name from your contract rather than assuming the nearby Jenny Lind teaching building is your hall.

Moving in with several cases

Tell us the luggage count before the vehicle is confirmed. Executive MPV and larger-group options can be discussed where suitable and available; luggage can reduce usable passenger capacity.

3 stationsWorcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill and Worcestershire Parkway serve different parts of the wider Worcester journey.

Rail travel can leave you with a final local journey

Foregate Street is especially convenient for City Campus and is about a five-minute walk away according to the University. Severn Campus is around a 15-minute walk from Foregate Street, while St John’s is around 25–30 minutes on foot or about five minutes by taxi.

A pre-booked car can be useful when passengers arrive with several bags, children, mobility requirements or a destination away from the city-centre stations. Compare the complete door-to-door journey rather than assuming rail or road will always be quicker.

Some Worcester University visits are to a named building, not a campus reception

Academic meetings, clinics, law teaching, sport, conferences and research visits can all use different buildings. The invitation or appointment should decide the destination.

A major sports and events venue on Severn Campus. It is also part of the University’s graduation-day journey.
Charles Hastings Building

A named teaching building shown on the current St John’s Campus map. Use the campus entrance instructions supplied for your visit.

University of Worcester graduation travel has more than one stop

The University’s September 2026 graduation guidance shows why “Worcester Uni graduation taxi” can be too vague. Graduates first use Severn Campus, the ceremony is at Worcester Cathedral, and the celebration returns to Severn Campus.

Stage 1Severn Campus

Graduates check in, collect tickets and gowns, and can have photography in the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Building.

Stage 2Worcester Cathedral

The ceremony takes place at the Cathedral. The University says there is no parking or drop-off at the Cathedral itself, so current event guidance must be followed.

Stage 3University Arena

After the ceremony, graduates and ticketed guests are invited back to Severn Campus for the celebration reception.

Booking a chauffeur for graduation day? Tell us which stages you need and the timing on your graduation schedule. A collection from home or hotel, a Severn Campus arrival and a later return journey may need to be planned as separate booked movements rather than one simple point-to-point trip.

University of Worcester to the airport

For a return journey, the collection point matters just as much as it did on arrival. Tell us whether you are leaving St John’s, City Campus, Severn Campus, Lakeside, a hall, hotel or private address.

For Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester or another long-distance airport, allow enough time for motorway traffic, roadworks and terminal access. Worcester is served by the M5, and the University says its main campuses can normally be reached from Junction 7 in around 15–20 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

Questions about University of Worcester airport transfers

What is the closest airport to the University of Worcester?

The University’s international-arrival guidance recommends Birmingham Airport where practical and describes it as the closest airport. It says driving from Birmingham Airport to Worcester takes around an hour. The exact road time depends on traffic and the final Worcester address.

Can I book a University of Worcester taxi with Crystal Executive Cars?

You can pre-book CEC for the journey, but CEC is an executive chauffeur-driven private hire operator rather than a street-hail taxi service. We use the word “taxi” here because many travellers search for a University of Worcester taxi when they need a pre-arranged airport car.

Do you offer St John’s Campus airport transfers?

Yes. St John’s Campus airport transfers can be pre-booked from Birmingham, Heathrow and other UK airports. Use Henwick Grove, Worcester WR2 6AJ unless your University paperwork gives you a more specific hall or building.

Can you collect from City Campus Worcester?

Yes. City Campus Worcester airport transfers can start or finish at the confirmed City Campus address or another nearby University building. Jenny Lind and The Hive have their own locations, so send the exact destination rather than only “City Campus”.

Can I book a Worcester to Heathrow taxi-style journey in advance?

Yes. If you are searching for a Worcester to Heathrow taxi, CEC can provide the journey as a pre-booked chauffeur-driven private hire transfer. We agree the collection details in advance and can plan for students, families, academics and business travellers.

Do you have larger vehicles for student luggage?

CEC can discuss executive MPV and larger-capacity options where suitable and available. Tell us the number and size of cases before booking because luggage can reduce the safe passenger capacity of a vehicle.

Can you provide child seats?

Tell us the child’s age and the type of seat required when requesting the booking. We will confirm what can be provided for that journey rather than assuming one seat is suitable for every child.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

CEC uses available flight information to help coordinate airport collections. Airport bookings include a 60-minute waiting-time allowance, subject to CEC booking terms. Contact the office if a major delay changes the wider travel plan.
